The Life and Mission of The Minster today.
As well as being an ancient Minster Church, Howden minster is also the Parish Church
of the town, and seeks in all of its varied activies to provide a living witness to the
Gospel of Jesus Christ. The worship in the Minster is in the Anglo-Catholic tradition, with music playing a leading part in the liturgy.

THE MINSTER CHOIR: We are fortunate that the choir, under the leadership of Mr Alan Dance, is able to perform a regular Choral Evensong, as well as a motet at the Parish Eucharist each Sunday. The choir is always keen to hear from prospective members of any age or experience. If you would like to join them, please contact Alan. Or just come to the Minster at 7.15pm on any Friday evening, where you will be assured of a warm welcome.

SUNDAY SCHOOL: The group meets in the church hall, in the grounds of the Rectory, during 10.30am Parish Eucharist. They join the rest of the congregation at the Communion, where they have an opportunity to tell us what they have been doing.

PRAM SERVICE: On Thursday afternoons during the school term, there is a time of informal worship and chat for mothers and toddlers. The Pram Service meets in the Church Hall from 2 til 3pm under the leadership of Audrey Buckee.

BELL RINGING: The Minster has a fine set of eight bells re-cast in 1932 by Taylor's of Loughborough. The bell ringing company is pleased to welcome visitors to the tower at their Wednesday evening ringing practice, although because of the complex nature of the access to the tower, please speak to the tower captain to arrange a visit.
